Blurry Vision

For this clip I recorded a section of a stream that had reflections of the forest in it. This sounds like my last one, but is completely different because the reflections are always blurry because of the constant movement of water.
An Ant Whitewater Rafting

For this clip I went out to Lake Park on a rainy day. There were many streams that intrigued me and I thought to myself how it would be fun to be small and travel down the streams...this is it.
Night Shots

These are various night shots I took and put into a video clip. I find them interesting because I would shake the camera and that would cause the lights to blur or bend and create unique shots.
Chased in the Dark

This clip is interesting because many people's fears are of the dark. Mine personally would be someone chasing me with the intent of hurting me in the dark. This plays through the eyes of the person being chased.
Mystery Man

I enjoyed recording this clip because it gives the viewer a sense of mysteriousness. You wonder why the person is behind the fenced door and what is going to happen to him. Could the man behind the camera be a killer?

Project 3 Video, Last Light Capturing Trek Strategies

Setting/Situation #1 - I want to capture Lake Park visuals at night. I feel it will be a different world at night. I am curious to see what I can capture at night with the lamps and moon.

Setting/Situation #2 - I also want to capture life during the day at Lake Park because I feel a lot happens there during the day, with families and people in general. I am curious what people do there during the day that I don't already know about.
Project 3 Video, Last Sound Trek Strategies

Soundscape #1 - I want to further explore the sounds of Lake Park at night. I think I could find some interesting sounds during the night. Chances are no one will be there so I will have silence to pick up unique sounds.

Soundscape #2 - I also want to record the life that goes on there during the day. I am hoping to pick up sounds of humans and animals/nature. I feel there could be a rythmic beat to the sounds.

Project 3 Video, Light Capturing Trek

Trek Area:
While I am recording sounds in Lake Park, I will also record video and still imagery of my curiousities. I will walk around the paths and also in the woods. I will enter at the corner of Kenwood Ave. and Lake Park. Hopefully I will be able to capture my curiosities in my visual recordings. Google Map.

Settings #1: I want to capture video footage of Lake Park at night. When the sun goes down I think the park will have a completely different setting at night. I hope to capture some unique aspects.

Settings #2: I want to know if it is different to record when the sun is not out or hiding behing clouds. For my first recordings, the sun played a key role in a lot of my footage. Im hoping I can do the opposite.

Production Strategy #1: For my first setting I will use the techinque of water and close-up to generate still imagery of video that will pull a uniqueness out of it.

Production Strategy #2: For my second setting I will use the technique of only recording images of clouds that tend to look unique. I hope this will answer my question about the sun?
Project 3 Video, Sound Trek.

Trek Area: I plan on stepping back into Lake Park. I will enter at he corner of Kenwood Ave. and Lake Dr. There I will walk the paths to explore some of the curiosities that I had asked in my previous post. I will then leave the paths and step down into the ravine, to find unique sounds that help feed my curiosities. Google Map.

Soundscape #1: I want to step down into the ravine and stay there quietly while recording sounds of the wildlife. The leaves on the ground will help mkae for interesting recordings because I'll be able to hear more life moving around then two months ago. Hopefully, this will answer my question about wildlife and what exist there.

Soundscape #2: I also want to hear what all goes on in Lake Park during the day. I will stand in a more populated place and record all there is to hear. I wills ee what families do for fun there or what people do for recreation. This will answer my curiositiy about what people do there.

Ten Curiosities

1.) How would the sun not being out affect my recordings?

2.) How many people in class recorded in Lake Park?

3.) Did I pull enough uniqueness out of my trek?

4.) What different types of animals’ homes are there?

5.) Was Lake Park man made?

6.) What year was this land considered a park?

7.) What events have occurred at Lake Park in the past?

8.) How many people walk through to take pictures?

9.) Where does the stream originate from in Lake Park?

10.) Does the stream dry up in the summer?
October 27th - Lake Park

During trek02, the place I recall the most is when I entered Lake Park. It was a brisk and sunny, fall day. I found it beautiful because of all the fall colors. There were reds, oranges, greens, browns, and many more. It felt alive to me and I loved recording it. Since I was a little kid, I loved the smell of fall. That is all I smelt when I was out in Lake Park. Having the sun out made it even better. You would have a brisk wind, but the sun would warm your face. It was also nice to record it through the trees. When we walked down into the ravine, I felt like I stepped out of reality and into another world. My buddy and I ran into these two hippies and they asked what we were doing. It felt nice to say I was working on a film project. My favorite clip to record during the time I spent in Lake Park was the frozen puddle clip. I felt I was really pulling images out of this clip. When recording I saw the puddle and frozen leaves in the puddle. But if you would look closer you could see the reflection of the trees and sun. I felt every second I recorded, something new would come into the frame. Overall I liked this trek the most and I like the results of my footage that I saw on my computer. I wonder what the hippies thought when I told them I was a film major?
